FAQ's - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTION
HOW DO WE PAY OUR GUIDE?
After you make your 20% deposit with SE Charters on a credit card, the balance of your trip will be paid directly to your guide or in our office at Hawks Cay.  Credit Cards, cash and travelers checks are accepted by Saltwater Experience (SE Charters).
WHERE WILL WE MEET OUT GUIDE?
Each guide has a different meeting time and place depending on the weather and fishing conditions.  Charters usually depart from the Hawks Cay Marina unless the trip is planned for Key West, Key Largo or other driving destination. It is ALWAYS best to check in with SE Charters the night before your trip by phone to go over the plans for the next day.
WILL THE GUIDE HAVE A COOLER AND ICE?
Yes, all SE Charter boats are equipped with a cooler and ice.  Please do not bring your own cooler as there will not be room for it.

HOW DO WE CONTACT SE CHARTERS?

SE Charters Can be reached in 3 ways 24/7:
by phone 24/7 at 1 877 FISH 305
by text at 305 394-1873
by email at charters@semultimedia.com
by stopping by the office at Hawks Cay Marina.  Please make contact when you are in town and again the afternoon before the trip.

IS THERE A BATHROOM ON THE BOAT?

No bathrooms will be on boats under 28 feet long and even some boats over that do not have facilities.  Sometimes we can head to a beach or back to the marina if necessary but plans should be made to stay out all day.  If the bathroom is essential, please let us know and we will give you all options for boats that are equipped with a bathroom.

DO I NEED TO BRING MY OWN RODS?

Bring your own rods if they are easy to transport and it is equipment that you are familiar with.  Make sure it is capable of handling the fish that we are going to pursue.  There is no need to bring your favorite Crappie rod.  Call one of our fishing experts if you have questions about tackle.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?

You need to bring what you would like to eat and drink as that is not provided by the Captain.  Fresh sandwiches are available in the Marina Store. Please bring your preferred sunscreen, hat, polarized glasses, your own rain jacket, camera, video camera, a pleasant attitude and two arms ready to catch fish.

HOW DO I PAY THE BALANCE OF OUR TRIP?

SE Charters takes the following forms of payment: Credit Cards, Room Charge, Cash, Travelers Checks.

WHAT SHOULD I NOT BRING?

Do not bring black soled shoes that will mark the deck of the boat.  Make sure the sole is a non-marking sole.  Do not bring too much.  Try to fit everything into a small bag. You do not need a cooler, chair, elephant, or anything else big or bulky.

DO WE NEED EXPERIENCE?

No, no experience necessary but we would like to tailor your trip to your expectations.  If you have no experience, please tell us in advance so we can set you up with a patient guide who enjoys giving instruction.  There are many different species to fish for and some lend themselves to catching far more than others.  Communication is the key to having a great time and helping us to deliver the trip that YOU want.  Please talk freely with one of our fishing experts to insure that you get the experience you desire.

HOW MANY FISH WILL I CATCH?

The answer to this one depends on the weather, your skill level, species targeted, type of tackle used and many other factors.  We can give you an idea of how many fish might considered a good day but that is no guarantee that you will catch that many.  If actually catching large numbers of fish is top priority, please let us know that in advance and we can suggest trips or species to accommodate your desires.

DO I NEED A LICENCE?

No license is required to fish with a professional guide through SE Charters.  Florida requires us to purchase a license for an entire year that covers the captain and passengers.

IS THAT A CRUISE SHIP?

There is no dumb question, but this one makes me laugh everytime.  If it has a lot of windows, bright colors and says “…Cruise Line” on the side in 25 foot tall letters, yes, it is a cruise ship. During Tom’s time in Wyoming the #1 question was “When do deer become elk”…maybe there is a dumb question.
PLEASE READ CANCELLATION POLICY
