FISHING FOR SNOOK IN THE FLORIDA KEYS
The snook is a sneaky fish. It can be very comfortable laying near structure, bridges, wrecks, around mangrove shorelines and on the flats. The snook is a wary fish that spooks easily and can be a real bear to sneak up on. Given the right situation, snook will lay motionless until prey swims near it. Then, with an explosive strike, the snook will blast the bait.

If you are lucky enough to hook a Snook, get ready for a wild ride. These fish like to run and jump and if they are near structure, it will take everything that you and your tackle have to keep them out of it.
Snook live on the ocean side of the Florida Keys, around the bridges and near the mangroves, but the real honey hole lies in the Everglades National Park just minutes from the Hawks Cay Marina. This area is perfect for large snook. With the water slightly off color, it is much easier to sneak up on them and the area simply holds more Snook than any other part of the Florida Keys.
SE Charters fishes for Snook from the Yellowfin Bay Boats and the Yellowfin Skiffs.
If you want to experience exciting fishing for a truly great gamefish, world class birdwatching and wildlife watching, snook fishing in the Everglades may be just what the Doctor ordered.
