When you are making up your leaders can you mix and match materials for different sections of your leader to get different performance characteristics

Great video! Quick question though. Would a nail knot be as effective when building the leader in the video?
    Thank you. Love the show!!!

Well, that depends. If it is super skinny I might go with Mono over Fluorocarbon. Fluorocarbon sinks very quickly. A 12 foot leader can almost be like a sink tip. I use mono when I am tying for surface flies or when it is super skinny.

I fish Charleston SC for Reds. Do you use/recommend flour or mono to make your fly leader with??

Pretty cool that you guys posted this. I was at the Bass Pro in Dania Beach the other day and asked Captain Rich a similar question similar to this during his seminar.
