Fishing out of Islamorada in August can be very good. Generally the weather pattern calls for very calm days and slick conditions. Often, the Everglades can hold some incredible fishing for tailing redfish. I love to fish for tailing fish when it is as smooth as glass on the ocean. You can see them from a long way away and it always gets my heart pounding.
There are also good opportunities at small tarpon, bonefish and permit in August.
I like to get out early and get back before it gets too hot.
I hope you have a great trip. Send us some pictures of your fish or post them to our Facebook page.
All the best,
