Adjust Your Settings To Run The Florida Marine Tracks Chip In Lowrance HDS

Adjust Your Settings To Run The Florida Marine Tracks Chip In Lowrance HDS

The Florida Marine Tracks chip can be loaded into your Lowrance or Simrad unit and will display the best and most impressive aerial photography that I have ever seen. When you are running your boat in the Florida Keys, the boat is displayed as a triangle as normal, but you can see individual trees, PVC stakes, Markers, roads, marinas and every detail of the area that you are running through. You can see yourself moving through the area almost as if you are seeing it real time. I would buy the chip just for these photos. However, to make things even more interesting, they have the safe running paths throughout the Florida Keys backcountry and throughout the entire State of Florida!

The Tom Rowland Podcast - Interviews With The Most Interesting People In Fishing, Hunting, Fitness And Business

This podcast is different from many out there because it is not only about a single subject like fishing.  In fact, sometimes we will take on entirely different subjects like Hunting, Outdoor Adventure, Fitness (because everything in your life will be enhanced if you are in better shape...yes, that means that you will catch more fish), Business, Sponsorship, Family and more.  This is not a boring 30 minute canned attempt at a "How To" podcast that really would work much better in person, rather, this is an unhurried conversation with the most interesting people in the outdoors.

Rare Opah Catch Off Ft Lauderdale For Geoff Arias

Rare Opah Catch Off Ft Lauderdale For Geoff Arias

I thought that the Opah was only found in the Pacific Ocean, but I was wrong.  My friend, Geoff Arias sent me a picture today of an Opah.  (You may remember Geoff...we shot a TV show together and you can see that here.)  When I first looked at it, I thought that he had probably taken a trip to Hawaii.  Then, I looked back at the text and saw that it was not caught in Hawaii but rather, off the coast of Ft Lauderdale.

Saltwater Experience- SLO MO TARPON JUMP- St Croix Rod Testing

Saltwater Experience- SLO MO TARPON JUMP- St Croix Rod Testing

Jesse Simpkins of St Croix Rods comes down to visit and test some St Croix Mojo Salt and Mojo Inshore rods on the giant tarpon of the Florida Keys.  Mission accomplished!

Check out this SLO MO tarpon jump right next to the boat.

St Croix Rods are the perfect tool for the Florida Keys Tarpon.  We like so many of the models, but it is hard to beat the Mojo Salt and Mojo Inshore for outstanding quality, incredibly durable boat rods for a charter boat.  Day in and Day out, these things stand up to the abuse of these giant fish and (sometimes) the abuse of the clients.

Tom Rowland Podcast Episode #0002 | Will Taylor – Guiding for Giant Georgia Trout, Figuring Out Sponsorship and Life

Tom Rowland Podcast Episode #0002 | Will Taylor – Guiding for Giant Georgia Trout, Figuring Out Sponsorship and Life

I found Will Taylor on Instagram.  His photography had a different look and feel to it and I was very interested in his North Georgia waters.  Blue Ridge, Georgia was only down the road about an hour drive from where I grew up in Chattanooga, TN, yet  I had no idea that trout the size of my leg lived there...

Tom Rowland Podcast Episode #0001 | Chasten Whitfield – Helping Others Through Fishing

Tom Rowland Podcast Episode #0001 | Chasten Whitfield – Helping Others Through Fishing

Chasten Whitfield is a young lady who has devoted her life to helping others...through fishing.  She was introduced to me through my friend, Capt. Paul Fisicaro, who saw a news story on her and thought I might be interested in having her as a guest.  After watching the story myself, I called her immediately and scheduled her to be on Saltwater Experience...

Key West Fishing Tournament

Key West Fishing Tournament

One of the things I did to keep my kids super excited about fishing was to become very involved in the Key West Fishing Tournament.  The tournament is a long format ongoing tournament that begins March 1 and ends on the last day of November each year.  Anglers and guides receive a citation/certificate for fish that achieve the minimum citation length.  The tournament keeps records for All Time and for the year which allows for anglers and guides to target specific fish on specific tackle to try to win the different categories...

Mercury Marine to highlight new and improved Joystick Piloting for Outboards system at 2018 Miami International Boat Show

Mercury introduced the Joystick piloting a few years ago and it is getting even better.  We have watched our 5 year old kids dock a 3 engine Yellowfin like they are playing a video game.  This technology allows anyone to be able to dock a big boat with confidence.  If you are going to the Miami Boat Show, stop by Mercury and see the newest technology...
