Tom’s rant and advice for getting into pro fishing
Here are two emails that Rich and I recently received and below is my response.
I want to start out by saying I absolutely love they style of the show. I have been a fan of it since the first episode and really look up to you guys and the way you still have the passion and drive for what you do. I am a young aspiring guide in the Atlanta area and have a question for you; at what point in your life did you decide that this was the path you want to take? I have the support of a great wife and have been working my tail off to save for the transition. The passion is the same as it was the day I threw my first net for shad when I was 10 the joy that brought was forever burned into my personality and has become a way of life. I guess I am just nervous about the change and transition. Some advice in ways to make my transition easier would be much appreciated. Thanks guys for filming a show that is so educational and friend family oriented. The way you and Tom have such different styles that mesh very well together, I always bring something away from the show I can apply here whether it be about electronics or oncoming weather fronts. Keep up the good work and tight lines.
My name is Dean, I recently graduated from Florida State in May. I am a huge fan of your show and would love to go fishing with you. Why don’t you come up here to North Florida and I will show you some spots. I have red fish on lock down up here. Do you have any tips for me on how to get in you line of work? I want your job!!! I love to fish more than anything and I know there are ways to make a living doing it. If you have any pointers for me I would love to hear them.
