I have seen many hail storms in my days as a trout guide in Wyoming, Montana and Idaho. Additional hail has been experienced when wild tornado weather rumbles through Tennessee, but in Key West, it would be rare to experience a mega hail storm. Luckily, all the hail that I have experienced while outdoors has been minor and small in size.
Our friends over at Moldy Chum posted this video of an Italian fisherman stuck in a hail storm on the ocean. This video is definitely worth a look to see golf ball sized hail stones hitting the ocean all around. Maybe this is something that fishermen in the Northeast experience on occasion, but I have never seen something like this while on the ocean and I don't think I want to.
