Learn The Top 5 Knots Every Saltwater Fisherman Should Know

As a guide in the Florida Keys for over 20 years, I can tell you that it is nice to know a lot of knots but it is not crucial to your success. What is crucial to your success is knowing a few of the right knots. Everyone who fishes in saltwater should know how to tie the basic knots to make wire rigs, bite leaders, tie 2 lines together and be able to tie braid to monofilament or fluorocarbon.  With these basic knots anyone can feel comfortable fishing in saltwater for any specie, anywhere in the world.

I have boiled this down to 5 knots that every saltwater fisherman should know. I’d love to teach you how to tie these knots in step by step videos using high vis cord. The videos are very easy to follow and you will have memorized these essential knots by the end of the week.

All you have to do is sign up for our email list and I will send you a new knot every day until you have learned all 5. In addition, Ill send you occasional updates on other content produced to help you to become a better fisherman like new episodes of Saltwater Experience Television show, Tom Rowland Podcast episodes and new articles and videos.

How To Tie A Two Turn Blood Knot For Attaching Two Different Size Lines Together-Tarpon Fishing

The Two Turn Blood Knot is a knot designed to tie 2 different diameter lines together to form a very strong connection.  This knot can be used with or without a Bimini Twist.

We use this knot quite often for tarpon leaders in the Florida Keys, but it could create a great connection anytime that you needed to tie a shock tippet or to attach two lines of different pound test or diameter together.
